The Woods and Illyria

While I was thinking about what to write....somethig came to my mind....I just thought that Illyria and The Woods in A Midsummer Night's  Dream have something in common, because they both are places in whic passionate love takes place. These both are places in which love, party and excess appear.

In one hand, from what I have gathered, Illyria is the setting of Twelfth Night, that is the reason because it is so important to the romantic atmosphere of the play. In this place everybody is drunk and happy (drunk in love). Illyria is a place of disproportion, excess; a place in which people can not differentiate between real and imagery, as well as in the woods  which is a representation of what happens when you are blinded or drunken in love and surrounded by magical creatures (fairies) that from my point of view represent our inner feelings when we are or we think we are in love. 

On the other hand,just as Illyria,  The Woods are a very important place to the play too, because here the magical an romantic events take place bringing a lot of action to the play.

I see The Woods as a world where reality is distorted because of love, parties and magic. As a result, it turns very difficult to diferentiate it from fantasy or imagery (as in Illyria).

To wrap up, in both places a scape from order, rules, routine; in other words reality, is shown.
